Okay, so i just ordered acai berry with my husband’s credit card. It’s 3.95 or something so its a good deal. I have three questions about the diet plan:
1. Is it dangerous? Swallowing diet pills sounds scary to me, has anyone out there tried it before?
2. How old do you have to be to try it?
3. What is the scam? Do I have to call a certain number so i don’t pay for any more bottles?
Thanks for the help! Greatly appreciated!

Does The Acai Berry Diet Work?

I am not sure what you are expecting to get from Acai. It appears to be a great antioxidant. Some people claim it gives them more energy or that it boosts the immune system, etc. It is a fruit that is unlikely to have any danger, but it is a waste of money for weight loss.
The acai berry craze is filled with scams, especially on the internet. I would be very cautious about ordering free trials of acai. Do a search for “acai berry Scams” on google.
I am speaking from personal experience. I ordered a free trial of acai berry Power 500. On my next credit card, I noticed an extra charge of $29.95 from that acai company. I called them and they said I had agreed to a personal nutrition consultation for $29.95. To make a long story short, I had to threaten them with a lawsuit before they refunded that extra charge.
I also ordered acai berry Supreme. A few weeks later, I got another bottle in the mail, even though I never asked for it. I left the shipping box unopened and wrote on it: Return to Sender. Do Not Charge My Credit Card for This Product. Then I put the item back in a mailbox. I am worried about what my next credit card will say. I’ve heard of people being charged $89 for the next shipment.
One important final note: Usually on the very bottom of the website about the free trial, there is “Terms and Conditions” in tiny type. Click on that, and you will see info that you will be shipped more bottles unless you cancel in 15 days.

This is a phishing scam. They pull you in by offering the free sample, and then they start billing you around $90 even BEFORE you receive your next bottle. You have to cancel your “membership” before they will stop charging you. You have a small window to do so and for many of these sites, the number you are supposed to call is either bogus or they don’t answer the phone. They may have an answering service, but the answering service does not know specifics about the company - including when and how you can reach them. If you just ordered your bottle, I would suggest starting to call and cancel immediately.

There are so many diets out there, that it’s difficult to choose the one that’s best for you. Follow these simple rules, and you will lose weight.
# Find out how many calories it takes to maintain your current weight. (Weigh yourself for one week, while keeping track of every calorie you take in for that week. If you have not lost or gained any weight, that’s the number)
# Reduce that number of calories for your daily intake. (Avoid fats that you normally take for granted; mayo, cheese, salad dressing, etc. Avoid all fast food & soda! Replace soda with water & go to Subway instead of McDonalds)
# Exercise more than you do now to burn off additional calories. (The amount of exercise you do depends on your health so check with your doctor, but even walking one flight of stairs instead of taking the elevator helps)
# Drink lots and lots of water. No soft drinks. Soda should be a treat, not a staple.
If you feel the need to use acai berries in your diet, then buy from acai-diet. They won’t offer free trials, only free shipping. Pay with paypal when possible. This helps protect your credit card number.

Acai berries are great. They are loaded with antioxidants and they give you tons of energy without the crash of caffeine. Unfortunately, they probably won’t make you lose weight unless you restrict your diet to just the berries, in which case you would run into a ton of other problems. The only way to truly lose weight is reducing your caloric intake and exercising.
If you want the quick fix, the HCG diet does work, but it is difficult to stay on and you give yourself shots every day. It isn’t fun. You will also be out a lot more than your $4.00.
Good luck with your weight loss.

I’ve been using acai supplements a few weeks. I honestly don’t notice any difference yet besides the fact that I’m more “regular.” So I think it’s helped my digestive system… but no weight loss and no extra energy. I personally think it’s overrated. I don’t really need to lose weight though. My boyfriend is also taking acai. He’s lost some weight, but I think it’s due to him working out six days a week… not the acai.
I do not think acai is dangerous at all. As far as I know you can take it at any age and even if you’re pregnant. It’s just made of berries and has more antioxidants than any other fruit.
Be careful about those free trials. I’ve heard from numerous sources that they will start charging your credit card 50 bucks a month for an automatic renewal plan. Cancel the renewal plan ASAP or you might regret it. I think your better off buying your acai at a local store. I got mine at Rite Aid.
Good luck.:)

IS it dangerous?? Acai is a fruit like apples, oranges, blackberries. Do you not know what is in what you bought. IF it is good quality it will have acai and acai only in it. Oh course many are filled with all kinds of fillers and what not.
I drink acai juice or take pure acai in freeze dried form, and have been doing so for about 2 years. It is a great source of vitamins and antioxidants and that is about it.

1. It’s not dangerous because it has no active ingredients.
2. No age limit.
3. It’s a scam because it doesn’t work at all, but they tell you it does.
Lastly, keep in mind that even with all the anecdotal evidence you’re about to hear, it’s still just a placebo.

I am on my second month of taking the freeze dried type acai berry capsules, but I do like taking them.
I feel as if I have much energy, and just feel better in general.

The scam is that you bought something that isn’t going work. The pills are just a bunch of plant extracts that have ZERO evidence of working to reduce weight and are very likely harmless. They don’t have any appetite supressant drugs in them, if that’s what you’re worried about. If you burned the $3.95 in an ashtray you would achieve the same effect as what you just did except that the $3.95 would be going to a better, and more deserving place.
There is only one way to lose weigh, and that is eat less and exercise more. These companies promise that their product (in conjuction with diet and exercise, notice… odd that… wonder if just diet and exercise and NO pills would work just as well) will, oh what’s the slimy language they use to avoid making actual health claims, oh yes, PROMOTES the healthy weight loss, etc.
Honestly, losing weight is very simple, but it isn’t easy. It involves lifestyle changes and not eating that donut in the morning, or having that extra helping of mashed potatoes (even though they’re so awesome). Heck, it invovled not making your first serving of mashed potatoes the size of your plate.
So save your money, and remember that these companies are not accountable to anyone for their claims, because the law states that they only have to use slippery language that fools everyone into thinking that they made a real health claims.
The entire CAM movement is a giant scam perpetrated on the public using clever legislation that keeps them from being accountable in the same way that Big Phama is accountable. If Pfizer were seeling acai diet pills that didn’t work the public would have torches and pitchforks ready to burn down their factories and labs. Don’t fall for it. Be skeptical of both Big Pharma and the national scam of CAM.

I have been through it all and know what’s it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can’t be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I’ve worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes.
Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight.
First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can’t eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising…
This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it’s good for the heart.
However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It’s so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I’ve found a great addition to help any one out, it’s a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don’t get all crazy on me and say diet pills don’t work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn’t meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It’s an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. I saved money on the pills at theweightlossplace.com along with getting some good info. It basically makes those fingers not go towards the cookie jar. For me it’s the best pill I’ve tried and I’ve tried cupboards full. Now this doesn’t mean you have to follow my foot steps but I’ve successfully lost roughly 70 pounds and keeping it off til this day.
Well good luck and remember what I said, Dedicate.
